When we first met Murphy, he was 10 minutes from being put to sleep for aggression at the tender age of 5 months old. We were told that there was no hope for him - that he'd "gone to the bad". One look at his frightened, pleading eyes was all it took for Gareth to decide to prove them wrong and brought Murphy to live at Farplace.
He was, indeed, aggressive... but it was only because he was scared. Once we gained his trust he became a wonderful companion.
He was12 years old, and going very grey round the muzzle when he suffered a heart attack late one evening in 2008. He never recovered.
Murphy will always be in our hearts and minds. He's part of the reason we do what we do at Farplace Animal Rescue.
